PROPOSED UPGRADING OF THE ADAMS ROAD INTERCHANGE AT AMANZIMTOTI ON THE N2 SECTION 24, KWAZULU-NATAL

Description:

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) originally identified the need to upgrade the Adams Road Interchange as part of the N2 Wild Coast Toll Highway project.  Environmental authorisation for the proposed upgrade was applied for as part of the Wild Coast project and is incorporated into the associated Record of Decision issued in 2010.  The current proposed layout and upgrade footprint, however, differ substantially from the original layout.  In order to accommodate the new layout and footprint, it is necessary to submit a new application and to undertake the required Basic Assessment process.  The proposed project entails the upgrade of the Adams Road Interchange and associated road network located within the town of Amanzimtoti.
