PROPOSED UPGRADING OF THE ISIPINGO INTERCHANGE ON THE N2 SECTION 25, KWAZULU-NATAL

Description:

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is proposing to upgrade the existing Isipingo Interchange on the N2 Section 25 located approximately 21 km south of Durban.  The existing overpass bridge is susceptible to constant impact due to insufficient vertical clearance while the existing span over the N2 is not long enough to accommodate the future widening of the N2.  Traffic projections indicate that the bridge would also need to be widened to accommodate the predicted future traffic volumes.  The proposed project requires the undertaking of a Basic Assessment process and a Water use Licence Application process.
